Compositionno less than 96% natural-origin adrenochrome of the house signature, of the finest selection, stabilised whole under colloidal gold in a base of triple-distilled ethanol, with orris and a breath of dried rose.
The Cuvée Exceptionnelle is the house's celebration release: composed not for a season but for an occasion, and offered only when the house has something to celebrate. It is the most finely selected expression the Maison makes, reserved for its most distinguished clients — and the only one the house conserves under gold. A measure of colloidal gold, what the old houses called aurum potabile, is carried in the base; the Maison holds that it keeps the reserve as nothing else does, and it lends the liquid its deep, lit ruby.
ExpressionA dark garnet drawn toward ruby and lit from within — the colour of the gold it is kept under, and clearer still through the sapphire that holds it. The house selects for it with a severity it permits itself nowhere else, and what passes that selection is finer than anything else it sets down.
MethodComposed to the house signature, then laid under colloidal gold and left to settle — the gold a conservation and not a garnish, worked into the base rather than shown upon it.
Collector profileCeremonial and celebratory — acquired to mark something, and kept for the marking. The rarest of the house's releases save the pièce unique, and numbered accordingly.
PresentationA single ampoule of colourless sapphire crystal, in a case of oiled teak inlaid with gold and lined with crushed velvet, with a certificate of authenticity signed by the hand of the Maître Assembleur.
AllocationThe selection is severe and the occasion rare; placement is by allocation and price is not quoted.
